This Is How It Starts...

Buckeye fans, if I were you, I'd be more than slightly nervous...
"Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells will not play when the third-ranked Buckeyes take on Ohio on Saturday."
I'm not sayin'... I'm just sayin'... This is exactly how things went down with Mike Hart in '05 and in '07, it's a horrifying ride of increased hopes, 10 pounds of tape around a shoe, 6 carries, and then your star hobbling off the field.

Just a stubbed toe, nothing to look at here people, move along, you too Mr. Carroll

Let's put it this way, it's entirely obvious that OSU doesn't need Wells this Saturday, but I think a bit of trepidation is in order for the way that the Buckeye machine has been handling this injury. I mean, something that would rank a bit above "relatively minor" would have to occur to cause your Heisman candidate brusing beast of tailback to:

A) Stop dead in his tracks
B) Fumble the football... on the goal-line... without so much as a finger being laid upon him
C) Appear to be in agonizing pain

I would never wish an injury on even the archest of arch rivals, but the longer this thing plays out, the more concerned I think Buckeye fans have to be for the long-term.
